Patient Care Technician
DaVita is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patients with end-stage renal disease in an outpatient dialysis clinic. As a PCT, you’ll provide direct, hands-on care under RN supervision, helping patients through life-sustaining dialysis treatment.
Here are some key details regarding this position:
Schedule: Full-time, 30–40 hours per week, consisting of 3–4 shifts per week (shifts range from 8 to 12 hours in length).
Location: This is a float position between the Menomonee Falls and Waukesha clinics.
Availability Requirements: Candidates must be available to work opening and closing shifts as early as 4:00 AM and as late as 9:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.
Weekend Expectations: Every other Saturday is required; no Sunday shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care
- Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment
- Set up and maintain dialysis equipment
- Record vital signs and patient data
- Educate patients on treatment and kidney health
- Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members
Requirements
- Accredited High School diploma, general education development (“GED”) credential, or equivalent
- Comfortable around blood, needles, and medical equipment
- Physically able to work long shifts on your feet
- Willing to float between local clinics if needed
- Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Preferred: CNA, MA, CHT, phlebotomy certification, or healthcare experience
